Separate filtration from ventilation
Air filtration captures particles from air passing through a filter. Ventilation brings outdoor air into the home. They solve different problems and may be used together. An air cleaner does not replace source control, such as addressing moisture or stopping pollutants at their origin.
Evaluate the complete system
For a dedicated whole-home HEPA solution, ask how air will move through the unit, where it connects and how filters will be serviced. A HEPA filter should not simply replace a conventional furnace filter unless the system is designed for it. Room air cleaners and whole-home equipment also have different coverage and installation requirements.
Set realistic expectations
Air cleaning cannot remove every pollutant or guarantee a dust-free home. Particle filtration and treatment for gases or odours require different approaches. Ask for the selected model’s documented capabilities, replacement-filter cost and service schedule. Tell Comfort Nest which rooms and concerns you want to address so the proposal focuses on your needs rather than a product label alone.
